Todd Yates, President
Todd is President and CFO of Facility Commissioning Group. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Kentucky in Mechanical Engineering and is a licensed Professional Engineer in the Commonwealth of Kentucky (#20447), Indiana (#PE10001131), Tennessee (#001906392) and Alabama (#27716E); has is a certified Test and Balance Engineer (TBE) #97-06-34 with the Associated Air Balance Council (AABC), a charter ACG certified Commissioning Authority (CxA) #1004-042 and is a USGBC LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP BD+C). Todd is a member of American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE). He was the lead commissioning authority for the Indianapolis Public Schools – Capital Improvements Program. Todd has performed mitigation commissioning for secondary schools in Kentucky and Indiana. Sample commissioning projects include Indianapolis Public Schools Capital Improvements Program Phase I, II and III; Indiana University Research 3, Neuroscience Research Building, and Ashton Apartment Complex; Purdue University Mechanical Engineering Building Gatewood Wing, Lilly Hall, and Lynn Hall. Todd possesses extensive HVAC experience with K-12 schools, higher education buildings, and laboratory facilities.
Jim Adams, Vice President
Jim Adams, Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Kentucky in Electrical Engineering; licensed professional engineer in the Commonwealth of Kentucky (#19845) and Ohio (#275323); ACG Certified Commissioning Authority (CxA) #711-871 and ACG certified Energy Management Professional (EMP) #412-E32; and Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) #140157. Jim is a member of the Building Industry Consulting Service International (BICSI) organization. Jim has industry experience since 1991. Sample industry projects include Eastern State Hospital, Eastern Kentucky University – New Science Building and Western Kentucky University – College of Education & Behavioral Sciences. Mr. Adams provides commissioning support relating to electrical distribution, lighting, life safety, emergency power generator and automatic power transfer systems as well as fire alarm and various low-voltage systems.
Matthew D. Adams, Vice President
Matthew D. Adams, CxA, brings significant CxA experience from over 16 years working in and leading FCG’s Indianapolis Branch Office. He has served as principal CxA for Roche Diagnostics – New Lab Consolidation Indianapolis, IU School of Medicine – Information Science Building, Indianapolis, IN and IU Health Neuroscience Complex, Indianapolis, IN among numerous other projects similar in size, type and scope to this project. Matt comes from a controls background and is extensively trained in Direct Digital Controls (DDC), Building Automation Systems (BAS) and Information Technology (IT). In addition to holding certifications in commissioning and energy management with AABC, he holds Certification with the Air-Conditioning & Refrigeration Institute, he is a Certified Tridium Technician, a Certified Honeywell Technician and a Certified Control Systems International Technician. This background has given him vast direct and hands-on experience with monitoring and analyzing control/energy management systems. He has become an outstanding communicator and facilitator during his time with FCG in interacting with our clients and owners. Matt has been the project CxA for over 85 projects for FCG that include writing Commissioning specifications, knowledge of building codes, and the turnover process of Building O&M review.
Brandon Moore, Vice President
Brandon Moore, CxA, LEED GA; Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting from Transylvania University; ACG Certified Commissioning Authority (CxA) #059-710 and USGBC LEED Green Associate. Brandon has industry experience since 2008. Brandon’s involvement in the following projects includes document distribution, commissioning plan and report production and commissioning document administration: Sweetwater Headquarters, Eastern State Hospital, and Kenton County Schools – Turkey Foot Middle School.
Cheryl Yates
Cheryl is a graduate of Athens High School in Troy, Michigan, and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Kentucky in Mechanical Engineering, as well as a Master’s Degree from the University of Kentucky in Mathematics Education. She is an EIT in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Since 2008, Cheryl’s responsibilities have been business focused, included administering accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll management, tax administration and cost analysis. She is also President of Synergy Test and Balance, an AABC member firm providing third party, independent Test and Balance services to building owners in the Indiana and Kentucky regions.
Glenn Miller Jr, CxA, TBE
Glenn Miller Jr., TBE, CxA, has an associate degree in Applied Science at Paducah Community College, Business Management/Drafting & Design Studies at Murray State University; ACG Certified Commissioning Technician (CxT) #079-711. Glenn has industry experience since 1990. He possesses certification as a Test and Balance Engineer (TBE) from the AABC #13-04-38, has completed OSHA 10-Hour and 30-Hour Construction Safety and Health Courses, has USEC/HAZMAT training (24 hours) and NES/Operator Training for using Scissor and Boom Lifts. Sample commissioning projects include, Fort Campbell – Army Reserve Center, Fort Knox – ECIP Renewable Solar Wall and Daylight project, Fort Campbell – Language Sustainment Training Facility, Murray State University – Hester Residential College Renovation, Springfield Air National Guard Base – Mission Operations Center and Owensboro Davies County – Convention Center.
Kim Kissick, CxA
Kim Kissick, CxA, has an associate Degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Louisville; ACG certified Commissioning Authority (CxA) #609-512. Kim has building systems operation, maintenance, and design experience since 1985. Kim’s expertise includes central chiller plants, central steam plants, HVAC mechanical system & controls, clean rooms, electrical distribution systems, life safety systems, emergency power generator and automatic power transfer systems. Sample commissioning projects include Camp Atterbury – Department of Public Works, Bartholomew County Schools Corporation – Columbus North and East High Schools, Purdue University – Mechanical Engineering Building, and Indianapolis Public Schools Capital Improvements Program Phase III, Cabinet for Health and Family Services – Eastern State Hospital, Eastern Kentucky University – New Student Housing. Berea College – Anna Smith Residence Hall.
Clay Kissick
Computer Engineering/Computer Science studies at University of Louisville. Clay has industry experience since 2013. Provides administrative support in creating documents relative to the commissioning process. Assists the CxA’s and CxT’s to support the Functional Performance Tests in the field when needed. Sample projects include: Eastern State Hospital, Indianapolis Public Schools Capital Improvements Program Phase III, Eastern Kentucky University – New Student Housing.
